Things to do in Adventureland - Attractions, Walkthroughs and Meet and Greets

In my previous post, we explored different things that you can do in Frontierland. In this post, the focus will be the next land that you come to if you leave Frontierland via the side exits. Adventureland has a range of different things that you can do including walkthroughs and fantastic attractions plus there are some wonderful treasures to view including Skull Rock! Let’s explore Adventureland!

How to get to Adventureland

If you are trying to get to Adventureland from the end of Main Street U.S.A., head to the circular parade route and take the second exit coming from the circular route. You will then be met by some buildings that look like they have been pulled straight out of Agrabah and you have successfully found the entrance! If you are walking to the land from Frontierland, take the first or second exit on the right after entering Frontierland. If you take the first exit, you will be heading in the direction of the Hakuna Matata restaurant. If you take the second exit, you will be heading in the direction of the Indiana Jones ride (at the very end of the path on the left).

Attractions

  • Pirates of the Caribbean (absolutely fantastic!) – Any height – Photopass available to collect at the end – Water ride – Family adventure – Wait times can vary throughout the day but can be between 10 and 30 minutes
  •  Pirates’ Beach (Playground) – Any height – A wonderfully immersive playground for little and slightly bigger ones – Accessible via one of the 3 bridges to the middle section of Adventureland
  • Indiana Jones™ and the Temple of Peril – Must be 1.40m to ride – Wait times vary but can be between 15 and 60 minutes (sometimes more on a busy day) – Big thrills ride

Walkthrough Attractions

  • Le Cabane des Robinson – Any height – A fantastic walk through attraction – Classed as a family adventure as you explore the wonderful tree house built by the Swiss Family Robinson
  • Adventure Isle – Any height – Exploration of the land and walkthrough areas to get to Skull Rock – A fun exploration activity to complete with the family to see what hidden gems you can uncover!
  • Le Passage enchanté d’Aladdin – Any height – An engaging walkthrough experience taking you through the story of Aladdin with wonderful models depicting different parts of the story
  • Pirate Galleon (currently closed) – Any height – Explore the famous Jolly Roger with family and friends and test out your best pirate chants!

Photopass

  • Find the Photopass photographers by using the ‘Magic Shots’ filter option on the app.
  • Use Photopass to get your photos from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.

Meet and Greets

  • There are a few meet and greet points in and around the edges of Adventureland and the characters change frequently/move throughout the day to different points.
  • There are currently meet and greet points between Frontierland and Adventureland (second exit on the right), to the left side of Hakuna Matata (as you are looking at it), to the right of the Agrabah section of the land (as you have entered from the circular parade route) and opposite the Jolly Roger (with Skull Rock also in the background).
  • Characters that we have seen around this area include Captain Hook, Genie, Jafar, Timon, Rafiki and even Captain Jack!
  • Use the app to see which characters it says will be in the park on the day that you visit. If you use the ‘Characters’ filter option on the map it will show you where there are currently characters at meet and greet locations.

Anything Else?

  • There are a number of restaurants and shops to visit in Adventureland (explored in a later post).
  • There are a few walkthrough attractions in Adventureland and all of them are immersive enough to make you feel like you are on a real adventure!
  • There is a little island in the middle of Adventureland which is where you can find the Robinson’s treehouse, Pirates’ Beach, Pirate Galleon and Adventure Isle.

Top Tips:

  • Make sure that you walk all the way around Adventureland and follow any signs that you see as you might just find something unexpected!
  • Make use of the Disneyland Paris app or map.
  • If you wish to ride Pirates of the Caribbean multiple times in succession, the best time to go is between the last hour of opening in the Disneyland Park while people are getting ready for the fireworks. We did this when we went at Christmas and literally walked onto the ride from the entrance!
  • Let yourself take in all the sights in this land as it is full of little paths and routes that lead you to some wonderful places!
