Exploring the Castle - Hidden Gems

Image
Exploring the Castle – Hidden Gems This post is one of the first in a series of hidden gems in the park. On first glance from the park entrance, you see the most amazing pink castle and may think that it is just a lovely piece of the park that you can look at. If you thought that…you would be wrong! Read on to explore the castle and all of the wonderful quirks that it has to offer. You see the castle immediately when you stand centrally in the park from the entrance and it is the most wonderful sight. It is pink with blue accents and has a sparkle to it that just makes it magical! Designed to replicate Princess Aurora’s castle, you find some hints inside to take you through the story of Sleeping Beauty. If you walk straight down the middle of Main Street U.S.A, you will come to the circular part of the parade route.   Things to do in Adventureland - Attractions, Walkthroughs and Meet and Greets In my previous post, we explored different things that you can do in Frontierland. In this post, the focus will be the next land that you come to if you leave Frontierland via the side exits. Adventureland has a range of different things that you can do including walkthroughs and fantastic attractions plus there are some wonderful treasures to view including Skull Rock! You will then be met by some buildings that look like they have been pulled straight out of Agrabah and you have successfully found the entrance! If you are walking to the land from Frontierland, take the first or second exit on the right after entering Frontierland. If you take the first exit, you will be hea...

Things to do in Frontierland - Attractions, Photopass and Meet and Greets When you enter the Disneyland Paris Park (not Walt Disney Studios) you are pleasantly greeted by Main Street U.S.A. Here you will find food, shops and even some meet and greets. Plus, it is a fantastic place to watch the parades! Main Street U.S.A. will be explored more in another post but for now the focus is on what you can see and do in Frontierland. How to get to Frontierland If you are like myself and tend to go left in a theme park you will find that Frontierland is the first land that you visit in the Disneyland Park. Walk to the end of Main Street U.S.A to the circular route for the parade (you will see the most magical and beautiful castle ahead of you!) and take a left. You will know that you have reached Frontierland as you will see the large sign, the even larger Big Thunder Mountain ride and more than likely smell the smoky fumes that make you want to explore more! Staying on Disney property vs. not When thinking about booking your holiday to Disneyland Paris, one of the first things that you need to consider is where you want to stay. There are benefits to staying both on Disney property and outside of the resort. This post focuses on the pros and cons of where you choose to stay and I will explore the individual properties in later posts. I’ve listed some ideas below with a run down of some of the pros and cons. Staying on Disney property If you choose to stay on Disney property, you need to consider a couple of things such as how much of a walk you want to the park and whether you would consider driving a short distance (see my post on Davy Crockett Ranch Hotel). Pros Cons You are only a walk or shuttle bus away from the park entrance Staying on property can be pricey – I would say one of the bigger cons You can take advantage of extra magic time (get extra time in the parks) ...
